2.9. Extension of Study Period

Students who have not completed their studies within the stipulated time can apply for an extension of study period. The extension of the study period is regulated based on the Rector of UGM Decision Number 1029/UN1.P/KPT/HUKOR/2021 regarding the procedures for submitting an application for an extension of study via SIMASTER for UGM students. The provisions for extending the study period for students are as follows:

  1. The student submits a letter of request for an extension of study two months prior to the end of the study period.
  2. To apply for an extension of study, the student can log in to SIMASTER using their SSO account.
  3. After logging in, the student can select the application menu and choose the type of extension of study application.
  4. After attaching supporting documents, the student can submit the application via SIMASTER.
  5. The study program as the first level of review will verify the student’s application and if approved, will continue to the faculty level. If not approved, the student will be notified through SIMASTER.
  6. The faculty will verify the student’s application, and the student will be notified through their SIMASTER account whether the request is accepted or not.
  7. If approved, the student can proceed with payment of the UKT (Single Tuition Fee) at UGM partner banks.
  8. The Directorate of Finance ensures that students who are granted an extension of their studies have their tuition fees arranged accordingly.
  9. Students who apply for an extension of study are required to sign a statement declaring that they are willing to comply with the applicable regulations. If the student fails to meet the graduation requirements within the deadline, they agree to withdraw from the program.
