Education sanctions are a punishment threat that can be imposed on any student who violates the provisions and implementation of the learning process at Universitas Gadjah Mada. The purpose of these sanctions is to:
- uphold discipline and obedience so that the programmed educational objectives can be achieved
- maintain the quality of education and encourage students to achieve optimal performance, so that a balance between input and output can be realized.
II.11.1. Types of Sanctions.
According to the form of the teaching and learning process, the sanctions that can be applied are:
- Administrative Sanctions
Prioritizing compliance in administrative processes, therefore sanctions need to be applied for violations. - Academic Sanctions
Prioritizing the implementation of academic ability to maintain quality, so for students who are inconsistent in the learning process, sanctions need to be applied. Quality monitoring and control processes are carried out through a hierarchical study evaluation according to regulations.
II.11.2. Forms of Violations
- Administrative Sanctions:
- Fine sanction for taking unauthorized leave of absence (absence without leave) is implemented by paying the SPP fee during the non-active study period (leave period) without permission.
- A fine sanction for taking leave for more than 4 semesters without permission (absence without leave) is implemented by charging the same SPP fee as that of new students in the current academic year.
- Students who are late for exams/wrongly observe the schedule, are not allowed to take the corresponding course exam.
- For students who are forced to postpone their graduation for some reason, if they exceed the next semester period, they are obliged to pay 50% of the SPP that they should have paid.
- Academic Sanctions:
- Late submission of KRS within the specified period due to one’s own mistake, results in a reduction in the number of SKS that may be taken in the relevant semester.
- The excess of the designated study load must be cancelled until the limit of the SKS load stated in their KHS is reached.
- Changing KRS without the permission of the academic supervisor, will result in rejection of the KRS, and only the KRS approved by the academic supervisor will be valid.
- Cheating in the final semester exam will result in a fail grade for the course.
- Failure to meet the evaluation requirements of the first four semesters, the student is invited to withdraw.
